My latest book is a book of questions. My questions about some of the commonly held beliefs on various subjects. Below is a sample with the Question being "GHOSTS" and my rant on the subject.
Question Everything~Believe in Yourself
The concept of a spirit or Ghost being trapped in a building, or maybe a piece of land has always fascinated me because it simply doesnt make sense. Were talking about energy. Spirit is energy. Energy is not bound by walls, doors, or windows so why would it be trapped? I know the various theories about different kinds of spirits.
First lets talk about a spirit that doesnt realize that it is no longer living in a body or more simply, dead. Ok, I can accept a quick, surprise death which could cause confusion upon crossing into spirit, therefore the spirit would still behave as if he/she were in body creating the world around them as they knew it, but heres where it falls through. How then, would they communicate with investigators? If the ghost doesnt know its dead, and they see the surroundings as they did when they were living, then why would they even be aware of these strangers wandering around their home or area with weird equipment? Someone in that condition, of not realizing their death, would be oblivious to anything that didnt fit what they would think of as their reality, so communicating with a spirit like that wouldnt be an option or even possible. In fact, they the ghost, would probably think that the investigators were the ghosts because they are out of place in their reality.
Another popular theory is that there must be spirits in a place where there was massive death, or sudden death. Most of the time these spirits are portrayed as being angry, or even evil. The whole idea of angry or evil spirits and even demons is something I cover in the next chapter so for the sake of this chapter Ill stick to the basics. Residue energy, leftover energy, or imprinted energy because of some tragic event I can go with. Intense emotions, of pain and anger, a place like a closed down prison would probably have imprinted emotional energy in it. But angry spirits who are choosing to stay, or are somehow trapped in that area and unable to leave makes no sense.
Much of what investigators pick up via EVP, or on camera, I believe is residue energy. The leftover, imprint of souls that somehow were emotionally connected to a place, and which we can mistake as an angry spirit when in fact its the imprint of that angry human. If we can believe in the ability of the mind to create reality, then perhaps what when we find a trapped spirit what were really finding is the projection of our own feelings of being trapped in situations, and not being able to escape. Relationships, jobs, family issues, a life that we just dont feel right in, yet we cant find the power to change. Maybe, just maybe the spirits in these haunted places are our own being reflected back to us.
